Not to be ungrateful but unless CM is working on behalf of the Grateful Dead ( like I know he is for Steve Kimock )can he really expect to have any sort of copywrite type of expectation? Of course he doesn't HAVE to do anything he doesn't want to but why does he do it after all? Whatever his reasons those should still be there as I don't think anyone but SDH will pass up a CM remastered SBD over a matrix. Some might grab both but not just wait for a matrix I don't think.

Here's one thing I'd like to know - a) what connections do you need to have access like that to everything? I mean we're talking stuff that no one even thought was out there and b) I know Rob Eaton is in DSO and before that a huge DeadHead but how the hell did he or anyone end up with everything? and of course c) it's still great how people now share so generously to the masses. Anyone remember the days when people would be SO snotty and cliquey about sharing, you had to pass some sort of cred test, it was a total status thing. And these same types would always claim to know someone or Dan Healy on a personal basis etc etc. I'm glad those trendy snobby days seem to be a lot better these days.

when I was in college, I remember going to this head's house and he had a collection of tapes that I had never seen before. At the time, I had 4-5 shitty tapes and whatever I could tape off the GDH. I still remember him saying I could record 1 and 1 only. It was a total status symbol at that time. BTW, I still remember the tape I chose, 2/26/77.
